Today, Former Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi alias Sonko asked the public to be cautious of con men using his name to sell fake gold online.
‘Beware of selling fake gold using Mike Sonko Fake account' He stated.
In a post shared on his social media, Sonko revealed that fraudsters have opened up sham Facebook accounts bearing his names to sell counterfeit gold nuggets to unsuspicious people.
He also shared several images of fake advertisements used to lure people.
‘It has come to my knowledge that a group of conmen and women have opened some fake FB accounts bearing names Mike Sonko or Mike Sonko Foundation for purposes of selling fake gold nuggets to unsuspecting members of the public’ He added.
