Kenyan Celebrity Scandals That Surprised Us

Governor Alfred Mutua and Lillian Ng'ang'a 

Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua and his long term partner Lillian Nganga announced their separation in August, and it took many of us by surprise. After their separation, Governor Alfred Mutua went on a media tour, and; he opened up about their split. During most of the interviews, Mutua said that he and Lillian were still friends and that their separation was amicable.  However, Lillian dismissed his claims during a press conference on 4th November. While speaking to the media, Lillian accused the Governor of threatening her life and those close to her. Lillian further revealed that the Governor called her his public enemy after requesting a separation, and he promised to teach her lesson.

Karen Nyamu and Sammidoh Just when we thought the drama between Karen and Singer Samuel Muchoki, alias Sammidoh had simmered down, the pair emerged with a new issue on 4th November. It all started after Sammidoh announced that he was flying to the United States for a show. He revealed this with a photo of him, his pregnant wife and their children at the airport.  A few hours after doing this, Politician Karen Nyamu, his other baby mother, shared a photo of herself aboard a plane. Her picture created speculations, and netizens questioned if he was travelling with her. She added fuel to the speculation by sharing her plane tickets and Sammidoh's to confirm they were travelling together.  

However, when Sammidoh landed, he dared Karen to show her plane ticket to the United States during an interview. His request angered Karen, and she took to her Instagram to complain. Karen said she was disappointed in Sammidoh because he always embarrasses her online instead of protecting her from public scrutiny.  

Eric Omondi and Jackie Maribe 

Comedian Eric Omondi finally opened up about his relationship with former News anchor Jackie Maribe.  The drama started after Jackie exposed Eric Omondi for not taking care of their seven-year-old son. In response to her accusations, Eric demanded a DNA test to prove the paternity of the child.  Eric further revealed that he was never in a relationship with Jackie Maribe. He said they had a one night stand during a staff party, and two months after that, Jackie told him that she was pregnant.

His revelation created mixed reactions online, and many took to condemn his actions. However, some were in agreement with his plea for a paternity test. Shortly after this, a video of Eric Omondi and Jackie Maribe acting cosy emerged. In the video, Eric revealed that they had worked out their differences, and he would take care of their son. 

Frankie Just Gym It and Maureen Waititu 

At the beginning of the month, there were rumours that YouTuber Frankie Kiarie, alias Frankie Just Gym It, was allegedly suing his baby mother Maureen Waititu for child custody. The rumours started after entertainment blogger Edgar Obare shared a summoning letter showing a case against Maureen by Frankie. Despite these claims, neither Frankie nor Maureen have addressed spoken about it.  

Amber Ray, Amira and Jimal 

Just when we thought the drama revolving around Amber Ray, Amira and Jimal had ended, the trio graced our timelines with new drama.  It all began after Jimal created a special video for Amber Ray; and shared it on his Instagram to celebrate her birthday.

Amira was displeased by his post, and she took to her social media to declare that she was tired of his antics. She announced that she was divorcing Jimal and even shared a photo of herself at the divorce court as proof that she was serious.  It seems like Amber and Jimal were unbothered by Amira’s stunt. A few days ago, they went to the coast for a vacation.

The Bahati’s Big Reveal  YouTuber Diana Marua, the girlfriend of Kenyan singer Bahati, surprised fans last night after launching her rap career with a song called, Hatutaachana. Her debut has created a mixed reaction amongst netizens. Some took to their social media platforms to congratulate her. Others were unimpressed by her new choice in career and pleaded with her to stick to content creation on YouTube.
