Gavana wa zamani wa Nairobi Mbuvi Gideon Kioko, ambaye pia anatajwa kwa jina, Mike Sonko amewaonya Wakenya wasiruhusu maoni yao ya kisiasa kuwachochea kufanya vurugu. Watu Mashuhuri Wa Kiafrika Wenye Mamas Nzuri Ya Watoto Na Watoto Wengi Sonko alisema kuwa chuki katika Siasa ni ya muda mfupi, na wanasiasa mara chache wanashikilia kinyongo kwa muda mrefu. Kwa hivyo, mashindano kati ya wanaotamani haipaswi kuwahamasisha wapiga kura kuwatesa wale walio na maoni yanayopingana. Alishiriki onyo hili kwenye mtandao wake wa Instagram na video yake akiwa anatembea na Reuben Ndolo, mpinzani wa zamani wa kisiasa. Kwenye video hiyo, walikuwa wakinywa vinywaji na kufanya sherehe kwenye baa ya mahali hapo.

Mike Sonko na Reuben wote waligombea kiti cha mbunge wa Makadara mnamo 2010. Walakini, Mike Sonko alishinda uchaguzi baada ya kupiga kura 19,535 wakati Reuben alishika nafasi ya pili.
