Al-Nassr: Cristiano Ronaldo Faces Suspension and Fine for Obscene Gesture


Al-Nassr forward Cristiano Ronaldo has landed in hot water with the Saudi Football Association after an incident during a recent match. The superstar reacted to chants for his rival Lionel Messi by making an inappropriate gesture towards the opposing fans.

During Sunday night's Saudi Pro League clash against Al-Shabab, Ronaldo found himself the target of chants in support of Messi. Despite scoring a goal in his team's 3-2 victory, Ronaldo responded to the taunts by gesturing towards his crotch, sparking immediate criticism.

Reports from Saudi media suggest that Ronaldo has been handed a two-match suspension and an undisclosed fine as punishment for his actions. While the financial penalty may not dent his hefty salary, the ban means he'll miss upcoming important fixtures, including Thursday's game against Al-Hazm and possibly the AFC Champions League quarter-final.

This isn't the first time Ronaldo has been embroiled in controversy over such gestures, having avoided punishment for a similar incident in April 2023. While the details of his current suspension are still being finalized, it's likely that Ronaldo will be sidelined until March 7, when Al-Nassr takes on Al-Raed in the league."
