Ugandan Olympics Winners Receive a Grand Welcome and Brand New Vehicles from The President.

President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda graced a welcome ceremony held; for the athletes who participated in the recently concluded 2020 Olympics. He congratulated Joshua Cheptegei, Peruth Chemutai and Jacob Kiplimo for winning medals and gave each; brand new SUV vehicles as gifts. The President shared photos from the event through a post on his social media accompanied by a congratulatory message. ‘I once again congratulate Cheptegei, Chemutai, and Kiplimo on bringing us so much pride, happiness, and success at the Olympic Games. Sports publicizes the country, I am happy you 'twinned' sports with tourism. Keitapon!’ He captioned the photos.

Team Uganda won four medals altogether. Cheptegei won Gold in the Men's 5000m race and Silver in the 1000m race. Chemutai won a Gold medal in the Women's 3000m steeplechase competition.
